MobyMax provides a streamlined way to transfer students between teachers, ensuring that the new teacher can immediately access the student’s progress data, performance metrics, and relevant information.

This feature is particularly useful when:

✔ A student switches classes.
✔ A teacher leaves, and another instructor takes over their roster.
✔ A student needs to be promoted to the next grade level.


Transferring Students as a School Administrator

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax school administrator account.
  2. Click "Students Roster" in the left navigation menu.
    • If needed, click the arrow next to "Moby for Teachers" and select "School Admins."
  3. Click "Manage Roster" at the top of the menu.
  4. Select "Transfer Students to Other Teachers."
    • (Optional) If transferring students to another school in your district, select the school from the drop-down menu.
  5. In the left column, check the box next to the student(s) you want to transfer.
  6. In the right column, select the teacher who will receive the students.
    • (Optional) If transferring an entire grade level, use the "To Grade" drop-down menu to promote students to the next grade level.
  7. Click "Transfer Students" to complete the process.


✔ The students will now appear in the selected teacher’s roster.


Transferring Students as a District Administrator

  1. Sign in to your MobyMax district administrator account.
  2. Click "Students Roster" in the left navigation menu.
  3. Click "Manage Roster" at the top of the page.
  4. Select "Transfer Students to Other Teachers."
  5. In the left column, check the box next to the student(s) you want to transfer.
    • (Optional) If transferring students to another school in your district, select the school from the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner.
  6. In the right column, select the teacher to receive the students.
    • (Optional) If transferring an entire grade level, use the "To Grade" drop-down menu to promote students to the next grade level.
  7. Click "Transfer Students" to finalize the transfer.


✔ The students will now appear in the selected teacher’s roster.


Important Notes

For Clever or ClassLink Schools: If your school uses auto-rostering via Clever or ClassLink, student transfers must be updated in Clever or ClassLink before they are reflected in MobyMax.
