MobyMax provides two options for administrators to roll students over to their new teachers and grade levels at the start of each year:
- Transfer and Promote: Move students to a new teacher and/or grade level manually.
- Spreadsheet Import: Use a student import file to update rosters automatically.
To ensure a successful rollover, each student must have a unique Student ID in MobyMax.
How Student Rollover Works with Spreadsheet Import
✔ When importing students, you can list both existing and new students using their Student IDs.
✔ If the Student ID on the import spreadsheet matches an existing student account, this triggers rollover mode—allowing updates to:
- student name
- username
- password
- grade level
- assigned teacher(s)
✔ As long as the Student ID remains the same, the student account will be updated rather than duplicated.
Tip: Instead of creating an import spreadsheet from scratch, export a list of existing students and edit the details as needed.

Important Notes
⚠️ Auto-Rostered Students via Clever or ClassLink:
- If your school uses Clever or ClassLink for auto-rostering, do not include these students in the manual import.
- Any manual changes made to auto-rostered student accounts will be overridden by the Clever or ClassLink sync.
