How Do I Fix Errors on My Import Spreadsheet?
When importing students into MobyMax via a spreadsheet, you might occasionally encounter an error with your import file. We've put together a list of the most common issues that you'll come across and the solution to quickly resolve them.
Error: The header for column [#] is not the same as the downloaded template. You cannot change the headers of the template
This error occurs when you:Change the template headers or use the wrong Moby template (or no template at all) Add text or numbers into extra rows or columns Have unnecessary formatting saved into your spreadsheet
Solution:
Double-check your headers Check for excess text or numbers outside of spreadsheet template columns Copy/paste the spreadsheet into a fresh template or a Google sheet to remove excess formatting

Error: The teacher’s email address in row [#] is not registered in your school/district
This error occurs when you: Solution:
- Check to make sure the email address is spelled correctly on the spreadsheet
- Register the teacher using the steps listed here

Error: Row [x] for "username" is duplicated in Row [x]
This error occurs when you: - List the same username twice on the same spreadsheet
- You are registering those two usernames at the same school. (It can also occur when you are attempting to share a student among several teachers, but there are slight variations in each listing on the spreadsheet).
Solution:
- Delete duplicate listings of student usernames
- Make sure that information for shared students (e.g., name, grade level, student ID, etc.) is exactly the same for each row on the spreadsheet

Error: Row [x] for "username" already has a student registered for “username"
This error occurs when: - The username is already registered in the school where the student is being registered
Solution:
- Delete the duplicate record from the spreadsheet
- Delete the student from your Moby roster (this will delete that student's data)

Error: This Student ID is already registered with "teacher" for “student"
This error occurs when: Solution:
- Delete the duplicate record from the spreadsheet
- Delete the student from your Moby roster (this will delete that student's data)
